Top 5 Blunders To Avoid While Building Backlinks

Written By ghiez on Sabtu, 21 Mei 2011 | 04.20

I am not sure what your level of understanding is when it comes to search engine optimization but research has shown that most people don't tend to go past page in their search results before refining their search & trying again.

It takes a nice SEO strategy in case you plan to be successful at getting your webpages ranked & listed higher in the SERPs. I prefer to make use of editorial marketing & backlinking to increase my exposure in the search engines as well as to raise my page rank for internal pages.

What does all this mean to you as a marketer? Well in case you are not located on the first page of Google or other top search engines you may not be able to make any funds.5 Backlinking Blunders To Avoid

For Best Results Your Links Needs To Be On Google's First Page of Search Results

There's plenty of ways to get your backlinks for those key pages on your sites to rank higher in the search results. There's however plenty of ways to mess up when link building but they are avoidable with a little know-how.
First Blunder: Backlinking to web pages which just are not at all applicable to your write-up.

To solve this problem all one needs to do is be sure to always think about relevance in articles and linking.

Second Blunder: Linking to duplicate content.

I really can't believe marketers would link to an article that's the same article on their site. What do they think about the intellegence of their audience?

When your reader clicks on a link in your article they expect to be taking to more information, not similar information.

Third Blunder: Missing the mark by not using keyworded links.

This is an area where blunders can really hold you back.

You article, if created properly, should have a specific keyword density using keywords that match your niche and that you can rank for.

Fourth Blunder: Reciprocal linking instead of going for one way links.

Search engines see reciprocal linking as scratching each other's backs and they don't much care for that. Instead search engines much prefer one way links that tell them you just voted for the autority of a site with a one way link.

Fifth Blunder: Non relevant blog commenting.

I love comment on blogs that are relevant to my own as there is so much opportunity for target traffic to my own pages.

The mistake made here most often is just rush to the site, leave a quick thanks for the great article and skipping off to the next blog. In my books that's just spamming blog comments and won't get you any positive attention. Take the time to read the blog post and add a comment that's relevant and that adds value.

I use a feed reader to keep tabs on the blogs I like to follow. This way I can see when they have a new post and be the first to comment on it.
